The Space: Reservoir Retreat - A secluded campsite located in the base of the Catskill Mountains, just 1.5 hours from NYC Guest Access: This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Two-story cottage perched on a hill overlooking Mountain Lake in the hamlet of Smallwood, town of Bethel. Reclaimed wood throughout this new custom home with modern-rustic charm and top-notch amenities. Come relax and enjoy the picturesque view. The house is perched on a hill among the trees overlooking Mountain Lake in Smallwood. Stone stairs from the drive wind down to the yard and front door. The first floor consists of the kitchen, dining room, half bath and living room with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the lake. Both the kitchen and bathroom have radiant heated flooring, a toasty treat during the fall and winter months. The kitchen is well stocked with all cooking necessities and features stainless appliances including a convection oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The living room opens onto the deck that faces west and is the best spot to take in the sun setting over the lake. The centerpiece of the first floor is the sun drenched staircase made of reclaimed wood. All of the trim within the house is reclaimed lumber from the original summer cottage on the property. The cottage proved too far gone to save but was deconstructed board by board and given a new life inside. Upstairs is the full bathroom also with radiant heated flooring and a skylight, two large bedrooms, and laundry room . Each bedroom has a queen sized bed and space to sneak away with a good book or tablet for those who can’t unplug - no judgment - we had WiFi before running water. This is the last house on a dead end road so there is zero traffic. The property is heavily wooded and very quiet. The abundant trees make for excellent bird watching. We have spotted eagles, three species of wood peckers, ducks, and geese. The house is best for one or two couples. All sheets towels, blankets, and pillows, are provided as well as a HE washer and dryer. The lake is a private lake for civic association members only and they check at the beach. You can use our rowboat but you must supply your own life preservers and their use is enforced on the lake. Our preferred swimming spot is the Toronto Reservoir and Lake Superior, both about 3 miles from the house. Guests have full access to the house. We are available by phone and email during the stay. This is our weekend home. We live in downtown Brooklyn. We front Mountain Lake in the hamlet of Smallwood, township of Bethel. There is a sweet little water fall and forest reserve just a short walk from the house. We are also near to Bethel Woods, Kiamesha Lake and the surrounding Catskills villages. A bus comes direct from Port Authority in Manhattan to the bus terminal in Monticello. It's about 8 miles to the house and there are usually taxi cabs at the station when you arrive. We recommend coming with a car, however. We hope you love our home as much as we do.

This spot is actually perfect for any triathletes looking for a training weekend out of the city. There are endless training runs and hill rides, but this site also has access to a unique endless training pool that perfectly simulates an open water swim. The site has one Tentrr tent with a queen bed that sleeps two guests. There is also a portable tent that can be erected for additional guests. The Space: Woodland hideaway, 2 hours from NYC, perfect for triathletes. Guest Access: This campsite is off-the-grid, offering the chance to relax, unplug, and experience nature! There is no electricity or WiFi, and cell service may be hard to come by. You'll have the entire campsite to yourself, as you'll be the only Campers enjoying this piece of paradise. When you arrive, you'll follow the map provided to arrive at your campsite. Parking will be close by and dogs are always allowed! Feel free to park anywhere that doesn’t block in another car. - Be bear aware. There are black bears in the Catskills who do from time to time like to come looking for food scraps. Please do be aware of this and store food in your vehicles. There is a bear horn in the campsite should you need to scare any animals away. Don'ts - pet the bears - leave food in your tent - leave trash or waste behind. The trash can be placed in the trash containers at the front of the house in the large grey trash shed.we recommend disposing of your trash in there at the end of each day to keep any animals away from your camp site. Interaction with Guests: Self-Check In: to limit the impact of community spread, we are encouraging our campers and hosts to adopt self-check in procedures whenever possible. Hello and welcome to the little country cottage in the woods, I wanted to message you to provide you with some details. We have been working very hard at renovating the cottage. We have put in new floors a new tub, counters and appliances and more. We still have some minor work to be done such as some trim here and there as well as work in the sun porch. The sun porch is not heated as of now and we plan to work more on this room after the summer season. All rooms are pictured and are up to date. We plan to continue improving this space for our guests and want to provide a comfortable setting for you to relax in the woods of Smallwood. If anything should come up please reach out to me on the dashboard. Please note that we do not revive mail here or delivery service so GPS can be tricky. The GPS will take you slightly past the house. Pls use the pic titled “view from the street” to see that house. We have provided extra Queen Size sheets and blankets and 2 sets of twin sheets, as well as towels. Please bring additional if you need. We have provided a mini fridge and full stove and oven. There is a window air conditioner unit that also works as a dehumidifier. I suggest putting the dehumidifier on for an hour as you arrive. It can get humid and a bit musty being so near the lakes. The tub is a large soaking tub so bring your bubbles! We provide free wifi but NO cable TV, so if you want to bring your fire stick. There is a fire pit with wood provided for a nice fire to warm up to at night. Directions to the restaurants and nearby lakes and hiking are provided. We hope you enjoy your stay! Located in Smallwood NY this quant county cottage will fill your needs for a nice little getaway.
